Who we are

Ability Inclusion Alliance is a dynamic, women-led community-based organization established in April 2025. Based in Nairobi County, it is dedicated to promoting and safeguarding the rights, inclusion, and well-being of persons with special needs

The Alliance was founded by a diverse team of professionals, including special education experts, occupational therapists, physiotherapist, psychologists, nutritionists, and international relations specialists—the Alliance combines professional expertise with lived experience perspectives to ensure inclusive, impactful programs.

We serve as a collaborative platform, bringing together professionals, parents, caregivers, students, and persons with disabilities to advocate for the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of vulnerable individuals.

Our leadership embodies authentic representation and inclusive vision, ensuring that every initiative is guided by expertise, empathy, and a commitment to accessibility.

The organization is led by a chairperson who brings personal insight as someone with lived experience of diverse abilities, exemplifying the organization’s commitment to authentic representation and inclusive leadership
Ability Inclusion Alliance remains steadfast in its mission to build an inclusive society where individuals with special needs and their families are empowered, supported, and fully integrated into every aspect of community life.

Who we work with

Ability Inclusion Alliance collaborates closely with individuals with special needs and their families to provide comprehensive support and empowerment. We partner with learning institutions to promote inclusive education, engage policy makers to advocate for equitable policies, work alongside community leaders and governmental organizations to foster awareness and acceptance. Additionally, we build strong alliances with other organizations and stakeholders committed to advancing accessibility, inclusion, and improved quality of life for people with disabilities.

Our Story

“What began as personal journeys became a shared mission—to uplift, include, and transform lives.”

From a Journey to a Movement

Our Chairperson’s path has been shaped by years of humanitarian service with international organizations, where she witnessed the impact of inclusion, empathy, and opportunity in transforming communities. Her commitment to human dignity, compassion, and equitable access inspired the creation of the *Ability Inclusion Alliance* — a community-based organization founded on the belief that every person deserves to belong, to contribute, and to thrive.

“The Expertise Behind the Vision”

Dr. John Onala, a specialist in early childhood assessment and inclusive education, brought decades of experience to the vision of the Alliance. His work in identifying and supporting children with diverse learning needs has shaped many inclusive practices across schools and communities. As a co-founder and technical advisor, he ensures that the organization’s programs remain evidence-based, holistic, and responsive to the real needs of children and families

 One Mission, Many Voices

Today, the *Ability Inclusion Alliance* unites parents, professionals, caregivers, and persons with disabilities under one goal — to create a world where every individual with special needs and diverse abilities not only survives, but thrives.

To create a world where every person with special needs thrives—not just survives.
